Reporter Julie Jargon of Crain’s Chicago Business interviewed Wayne H. Rothschild, President and Founder of Neat-Oh! International, LLC on February 18, 2006. In this article Mr. Rothschild recounted how he and his son, Max co-invented the ZipBin®solution as a response to the problem Max (and his dad) faced every time Max played with his extensive collection of plastic blocks. They both wanted the clean-up to be easier and faster.
Their solution was “a play mat that converts to a toy-storage bin with the yank of a zipper.”
Starting in February of 2005 Mr. Rothschild built a team of 10 marketing, sales and operations professionals and was able to design, manufacture and nationally launch five versions of the product through Sears by that October.
Chris Byrne, an independent toy industry analyst, was cited in the article as saying:
“…this is gaining traction.” “It’s getting distribution through a major retailer and that’s what’s important.”
